The Daily Office: Regular Prayer & Bible Reading

We bring each day's joys and needs to the God who cares for us. We recommend participating in the cycle of prayer and bible readings found in the Daily Office, a structured form of prayer embraced across many traditions of Christianity.

We recommend the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.")’s Daily Prayer app, which can be downloading onto your device for daily use for $2.99.

  • Daily Prayer PC(USA) provides brief services for Daily Prayer based on the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship, including: psalms for the day, readings from the daily lectionary, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession.

  • The app provides liturgies Morning, Midday, Evening, and Close of Day Prayer, selecting the appropriate service and lectionary readings based on the time and date settings of your iPhone or iPad. The calendar tool allows users to find psalms, readings, and prayers for other dates. Use the clock icon to select Morning, Midday, Evening, or Close of Day Prayer, overriding current time of day.

  • The “advanced features” menu allows users to toggle on/off various options and select between two versions of the Lord’s Prayer.

If you prefer a free resource, the PCUSA provides daily scripture readings here.
